Meet Mark
My name’s Mark, and I started MeritSalute after serving 8 years in the military, 3 years with the US Secret Service and realizing something was missing when it came to honoring service. Too many times I saw people given a piece of paper, a handshake, and that was it. After years in uniform and federal service, I wanted to create something that actually felt like it carried weight — something people could hold onto, and look back on years later with pride.
Starting this business wasn’t easy. I didn’t have investors, big money, or a storefront. Just a small space in the living room, a 3D printer, and the idea that I could make gifts that mattered more than what was out there. There were plenty of late nights, mistakes, and figuring things out the hard way, but I kept at it because I believed in the purpose.
MeritSalute is more than a side hustle or a shop for me. It’s my way of giving back to the community I know best — service members, veterans, and federal workers who don’t always get the recognition they deserve. Every piece made is personal, built with the same pride I carried in uniform, and sent out with the hope it’ll mean something to whoever receives it.
